We had an amazing birth experience with Staci and would use her again for our next birth. We feel very strongly that without her there, our birth experience would not have been as amazing. . . . I am very happy to have found Staci.

Staci's Reputation

A Nurse-Midwife Perspective

“I am an experienced labor and delivery nurse and working on completing my Masters in Nursing for midwifery, so I knew going into this pregnancy what the research showed about low-intervention birth and doulas. I moved here to Melbourne from Ohio in November when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. From the moment I called Staci and spoke to her on the phone, we hit it off right away. She is such a positive person and her personality is one in which you can’t help but like her!

I had very specific wishes for my birth and was very disappointed that I was not able to find a provider and hospital that would be willing to accommodate all of my wishes. However, there were some things that I absolutely did not want to concede to, and Staci and I discussed those issues thoroughly before the birth. The hospital I chose was about and hour and a half away and as soon as I told Staci I was in labor, she didn’t hesitate to come up there. She even beat my husband to the hospital!

During the birth, she kept me calm and helped me to focus on my breathing. As delivery came close, I felt like I was losing control and Staci did an excellent job of keeping me focused. At one point I was ready to give up and ask for medication for relief, but Staci gently redirected me towards focusing on my breathing and after the contraction would subside I felt better.

My husband was a huge skeptic of doulas, but after this experience he has completely changed his mind. He says that this birth was the absolute best birthing experience he has experienced. She was not only there for ME, but she was there for us as a family unit. She helped keep him calm, she didn’t hesitate to get the nurse or ask questions if we weren’t sure about something. I can’t explain in words how amazing Staci was during this entire process. She does this because she has a passion and a calling for helping women through pregnancy and birth…and it shows in her work. If you’re considering a doula, I would HIGHLY recommend checking out Staci. She’s absolutely wonderful! ”   Myra W.

“Having had two previous children I had a good idea of what I wanted for a birth with my third. Staci was able to help my husband and I get what we wanted from the hospital and staff while we were concentrating on bringing our little one into this world. She also reminded me how to breath and focus and guided my husband with his support of me so that I could be successful with the natural birth I wanted. Prior to the big day, I also learned a lot from her about procedures and thought to ask questions I would have never known to ask had I not had her help, despite having been through the process before. I am so grateful to have had her help for such a wonderful life event and would recommend her to anyone wanting a competent doula to help them have the birth they want!” Mary M., Mother

”If it weren’t for you, I think a natural birth for me would be a less likely scenario. You have taught and provided me with great resources to pull this one through. Thank you so much for your help, your kindness, your sweet voice and coaching. Keep empowering women to do what they were designed to do best!” –G.A., mother
